Refill or Full Set? Understanding the Difference to Get the Best Lash Results

When it comes to keeping your lashes looking full, beautiful, and healthy, timing is everything — especially when it’s time to book your next appointment. One of the most common questions I get asked at A SpLash of Confidence is:
“Do I need a refill, or a full new set?”
Let’s break it down so you know exactly what to expect, and why this matters for both your lashes and your wallet.
💡 What Is a Refill?
A refill is ideal if you’ve maintained at least 50% of your lash extensions since your last appointment. At this stage, I can easily clean up the old lashes, remove any outgrown ones, and fill in the gaps to restore your set to its full glory.
Refills are priced based on:
The time it takes to complete the set
The number of lashes required
The materials used for your specific lash style
Refills are a more affordable option — but only if enough of your lashes are still in place.

🚨 When It Becomes a Full Set
If you arrive with less than 50% of your lashes remaining, this becomes a full new set, not a refill. Why?
Because:
The remaining lashes often need to be removed for a clean, even base
Rebuilding from scratch takes the same amount of time and product as a full application
It ensures your lashes look even, healthy, and symmetrical — no patchy spots!
Even if a few extensions are left, it’s not possible to “refill” a nearly empty set. Think of it like trying to patch a whole head of highlights when only two tiny pieces of color are left — it just doesn’t work the same.

💰 Why Pricing May Vary Slightly
At A SpLash of Confidence, each lash set is completely customized for your eye shape, lash health, and style preference. That means:
Refill prices are set, but small adjustments may be made if more time or product is required (for example, if you’re around 40% coverage instead of 50%)
I’ll always be transparent about any adjustments before I begin
My goal is to give you the best lashes possible — never rushed, never half-done
If you’re not sure whether you need a full set or a refill, feel free to send a picture before your appointment or message me with questions!
🗓️ Booking Tips
To make sure you qualify for a refill:
Book your refill within 2–3 weeks of your last appointment
Avoid picking or rubbing your lashes
Follow your aftercare routine to keep retention strong
When in doubt — reach out. I’ll always guide you to the right choice for your lashes.
Bottom line: If you’ve lost more than half your lashes, it’s a full set. If you’re hovering near the line, your price may be adjusted slightly to reflect the work involved. Either way, you’ll leave with a fresh, full, and fabulous set — tailored just for you.
