Understanding Lash Growth Cycles and Their Impact On Your Extensions.

At A SpLash of Confidence, we believe that lash extensions aren’t just a beauty boost — they’re a confidence boost. Whether you’re prepping for a special event or simply want to feel more polished every day, our customized lash services are designed to help you wake up feeling fabulous. But did you know that your natural lash growth cycle plays a big role in how your extensions wear over time?

Let’s talk about how lash growth works — and why it matters when you’re wearing extensions.

💡 What Is the Lash Growth Cycle?

Just like the hair on your head, your eyelashes grow in cycles. Each individual lash is at its own stage of growth at any given time. There are three main phases:

1. Anagen (Growth Phase):

This is when your lashes are actively growing. Extensions applied to lashes in this phase may shed sooner because these lashes are still pushing out.

2. Catagen (Transition Phase):

In this stage, lashes have stopped growing but haven’t begun to shed yet. This is the ideal phase for applying lash extensions — the lash is strong and stable.

3. Telogen (Resting/Shedding Phase):

This is when your natural lash is preparing to fall out to make room for new growth. If an extension is applied to a lash in this phase, it will fall out sooner.

On average, we naturally shed 1–5 lashes per eye every day. So if you ever notice a few lashes on your pillow or after washing your face, don’t panic — it’s totally normal!

👁 How This Affects Your Lash Extensions

Because each lash is at a different stage in the cycle, some lash extensions will shed earlier than others. This is why fills are necessary every 2–3 weeks — to replace the extensions that have naturally shed and to keep your lashes looking full and fresh.

At A SpLash of Confidence, we tailor each fill to your current lash growth and make sure we’re always working with the healthiest, most stable lashes. Our licensed lash artist uses safe, professional techniques in our fully inspected studio so your natural lashes stay healthy and strong.

✨ Tips for Longer-Lasting Extensions

Want to keep your lash extensions looking gorgeous in between fills? Here are a few tips:

• Avoid oil-based products near your eyes — they break down the lash adhesive.

• Don’t rub or pull at your lashes, even if they’re itchy.

• Sleep on your back if possible to prevent lash compression.

• Use a lash-safe cleanser daily to remove dirt and oil buildup.

• Book your fills on time to keep your set looking full and even.
